May 2010 Primary Election Voter Information
Issue 1 Jobs for Ohioans
Issue 1, a statewide ballot issue, endorsed by the GCP Board of Directors, calls for the renewal and continuation of funding for the highly successful Ohio Third Frontier (OTF) program, which has played a major role in positioning Ohio as an innovation leader in technology-related industries. With Election Day less than two weeks away, there is a quick and easy way for YOU to help build support for Issue 1 by letting your friends, family and co-workers know why you’re voting “yes” on May 4 and urging them to do the same.

Issue 15 Cuyahoga County Human Services Levy
The Greater Cleveland Partnership Board of Directors is supporting Issue 15, the Cuyahoga County Human Services levy. Without passage of the levy, our new Cuyahoga County Executive and Council will take office with an estimated $80 million deficit and no way to pay for these services.
We’re urging our members to talk to their networks about this levy renewal and emphasize that this isn’t a tax increase. Funding from the levy represents the largest share of local support for our most vulnerable citizens and support for the entire county in dealing with trauma or crisis. Here are some key messages you can share about what Issue 15 does in our community:
- Provides critical emergency services, such as our region’s only Level One Trauma and Burn Center at MetroHealth, Metro Life Flight and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
- Protects children who are at risk of abuse and neglect.
- Helps senior citizens continue to live independently in their own homes with home health care services.
- Ensures that children enter school healthy, prepared and ready to learn.
