As the polls close, two numbers from Northeast Ohio may show how the night's results will shape up. In Lake County, a nearly equal number of Democrat and Republican voters cast absentee totals. If they vote their party allegiance, the results from the balance will show how Independents are voting in this election. In Cuyahoga County, many experts, considering new voters added in 2008, had expected a turnout approaching 500,000 voters. That apparently won't be the case, however, as Board of Election projections are that only 410,000 Cuyahoga County voters cast ballots today.
