Edward FitzGerald's lead in the Cuyahoga County Executive race continues to grow, as he has 45 percent of the more than 243,000 votes counted so far. Matt Dolan is still in second with 33 percent of the votes. About one-fourth of the county's 1,068 precincts have reported.
While it appears likely that FitzGerald will be the winner of the Cuyahoga County Executive race, the results for Cuyahoga County Council are very important. At this moment, it appears that three Republicans and eight Democrats will be the winners of these seats. Winning in the Democrat seats are District 2 (Miller), District 3 (Brady), District 4 (Germana), District 7 (Conwell), District 8 (Jones), District 10 (Rogers), and District 11 (Simon). Republicans winners, right now, are District 1 (Greenspan), District 5 (Gallagher), and District 6 (Schron). Updates to follow.
