Efficient and competitive air service benefits all of Greater Cleveland. That’s why the Greater Cleveland Partnership is leading a business community campaign to work toward the long-term success of one of Greater Cleveland’s most important assets—the Hopkins International Airport (CLE) hub.
The importance of the hub
CLE is connected to the very heartbeat of this community, and the Hopkins hub gives our region a clear advantage over other Midwest metropolitan areas of similar and even larger size. Thanks to the hub, CLE travelers enjoy:
- More than 70 nonstop destinations
- On average, nearly 250 daily departures
- Multiple flights per day to most major markets
- Access to single-connection international services
Plus, there are strong indicators that Northeast Ohio’s travel market will continue its ongoing, dramatic improvement, spurred, in large part, by the more than $6.9 billion in major capital investment now under way, including new hotels, corporate headquarters, major expansion projects at our world-class health care facilities, the Cleveland Medical Mart and Convention and the Horseshoe Casino Cleveland.
$4 billion annual impact
CLE’s $4 billion dollar annual economic impact on our region is a lot more than the number of planes flying in and out every day. It’s also about how it connects the entire region: Linking business travelers with their customers...patients with our world-class health care facilities...conventioneers to the new Convention Center and Medical Mart...tourists with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Cleveland Museum of Art and other cultural amenities...families to their loved ones in other cities...
