Community Empowerment Forum
In a unique partnership, the Cleveland Metropolitan School District (CMSD), America’s Promise Alliance, and City Year Cleveland, with the support of Cleveland Clinic, are convening the city’s first Family and Community Empowerment Conference and Dropout Prevention Leadership Summit, on May 22- 23, 2009, at the Cleveland Convention Center. The goals of the conference and the summit are to:
- Engage the entire community in meaningful collaborations that will improve the quality of life for youth and families, build stronger partnerships, and
- Create greater access to information, programs, and wrap-around services that exist to assure that all Cleveland students complete high school ready for college, work, and life.
On Fri., May 22, business and community leaders will join CMSD CEO Dr. Eugene Sanders in a discussion about the growing dropout crisis and generate business-community driven solutions that will help keep young people in school and graduate ready for college, work and life. As a silver-level sponsor of the event, the Greater Cleveland Partnership is able to offer GCP Investor-level members tickets to the invitation-only keynote address and Town Hall Meeting with philanthropist, author, actor, and comedian Dr. Bill Cosby on Sat., May 23 from 1 to 2 p.m. There are a limited number of seats, so be sure to RSVP now.
