Regional Prosperity Initiative Discussion: Region-wide Land Use Planning and New Growth Revenue Sharing

Please join  GCP President and CEO Joe Roman, Pepper Pike Mayor Bruce Akers, and Cathy Lewis, Gund Foundation trustee, in an important conversation about a bold new initiative to bolster economic development for Northeast Ohio. The Regional Prosperity Initiative is holding  “A Convening of Leaders” to discuss "Region-wide Land Use Planning and New Growth Revenue Sharing.”

The second of two discussions will be held:

  • Wed., June 10, 8 to 10 a.m. at Trinity Cathedral, 2230 Euclid Ave. in downtown Cleveland.

During these difficult times, it is imperative that key leaders in the region work together to position our region to come out of this economic downturn prepared to compete both nationally and internationally for new jobs and expanded economic growth. In an effort to bolster economic development, the Northeast Ohio Mayors (NEOM) and the City Managers Association (CMA) commissioned the Regional Prosperity Initiative (RPI) to implement a comprehensive, collaborative, sustainable and nonpartisan program for coordinated, regional planning and new growth revenue sharing.

Through the efforts of the NEOM and CMA, political and community leaders have become increasingly aware that competition between local governments for real estate, income and other tax revenues hinders our capacity as a region to attract and retain business, encourages inappropriate and wasteful development patterns and creates inefficiencies in government operations.

We invite you to become informed, become engaged and join us in preparing our region to succeed...together!
