Energy Forum: Best Practices in Energy Management
All businesses in Ohio soon will be faced with an energy efficiency mandate resulting from passage of Senate Bill 221 (SB221), which included the Demand Side Management and Energy Efficiency Rider. This will result in a new fee assessment, beginning this summer, for each kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity consumed by business customers with greater than 700,000 kWh annual usage.
However, COSE's designation as an Administrator in FirstEnergy's Energy Efficiency Collaborative allows us to help GCP and COSE members learn how to avoid this new fee through implementation of qualifying energy-efficiency projects. To learn more, please join us for an information session focused on the benefits of demand-side energy management on Tues., March 23 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the GCP/COSE offices in the Higbee Building, Suite 210 in the Shatten Board Room. The session, which is offered at no charge, will explain:
- Steps your business can take to report energy conservation efforts already made
- How to make qualified investments in new energy-efficient improvements
- How to prevent new charges
Featured speakers: FirstEnergy Corporation and John Verdile, XpenseSolutions, Inc.
To date, COSE already has submitted several applications to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) on behalf of our members. Click here for more information or call (216) 592-2370. You should complete and bring the Energy Efficiency Mercantile Form with you to determine eligibility.
For questions and more information, please contact Nicole Stika, director of COSE's energy programs, by e-mail or call (216) 592-2338.
