Commission on Economic Inclusion Annual Meeting

The Commission on Economic Inclusion’s 2011 Annual Meeting will be held Wed., May 4 at Windows on the River in the Flats. A reception will be held from 5 to 6 p.m., followed by the program from 6 to 8 p.m. The program will include:

  • Keynote speaker Earl G. Graves, Jr. president and CEO of Black Enterprise
  • A celebration of our 10th anniversary with the installation of inaugural members of the Commission Hall of Fame
  • Highlights of the Commission’s 2010 Employers Survey on Diversity™
  • Recognition of our highest-performing member organizations through presentations of the Commission’s 2010 Best-in-Class awards in board, senior management, workforce and supplier diversity
  • Introduction of the Commission 50, recognizing other high-performing members in workplace diversity and inclusion.

About our speaker

Earl Graves, Jr., joined Black Enterprise in 1988 after earning his MBA from Harvard University and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Yale University in 1984. After holding several advertising and marketing positions, he was appointed president and chief operating officer in 1998 and named CEO in 2006.

Under his guidance, Black Enterprise has expanded the reach of its signature magazine to include more than 4 million readers, redefined its "Wealth for Life" mission for the digital age with a revitalized multimedia Web site and iPad edition and successfully launched broadcasts of "Our World with Black Enterprise" and the "Black Enterprise Business Report" into television syndication.
