Get the Facts: NLRB Proposed Rule Changes
How could proposed changes to union election laws by the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) affect your company? Learn more at a seminar for Greater Cleveland Partnership and COSE members presented by Susan Hastings and Michael Hanna of Squire Sanders and Dempsey L.L.P. on Tuesday, August 30 from 7:45 to 9 a.m. at the offices of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, 1240 Huron Road at PlayhouseSquare.
In recent years, organized labor and their political allies have tried to enact dramatic changes as part of the Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA) legislation, which failed to pass Congress in the first years of President Obama's administration. In response, newly proposed NLRB rules represent another way for union advocates to achieve these goals by by-passing the legislative route.
If adopted as presented, these new NLRB rules will fundamentally alter procedures for conducting union representation elections and dramatically limit response time frames and legal arguments. It also will increase access to employees and their personal information. Our seminar will provide the opportunity for you to hear from legal experts and join the discussion.
