Morning Conversation: Plain Dealer columnists Brent Larkin and Kevin O'Brien

Greater Cleveland Partnership Investors are invited to our next Morning Conversation program featuring two veteran Cleveland newsmen, Brent Larkin and Kevin O’Brien, who have spent decades reporting, editing and writing for The Plain Dealer and other newspapers. They will share their views and thoughts about a wide array of topics. Please note a change in location. This program will be held at the City Club of Cleveland, 850 Euclid Avenue.

Brent Larkin

Many consider Brent Larkin to be the undisputed dean of Ohio political knowledge. Larkin has been a newspaperman in Cleveland for more than 40 years. He began his career at the Cleveland Press and is the former editorial page editor for The Plain Dealer where he continues to write a Sunday column. Larkin, The Plain Dealer’s former politics writer, is a walking encyclopedia of Cleveland and Ohio political knowledge. He speaks with authority and deep context about local and state politics. Larkin offers astute observations about how politics – and politicians – affect our region and its future.

Kevin O’Brien
Kevin O’Brien writes a weekly column in The Plain Dealer, which often carries scathing and unapologetic observations from a conservative viewpoint. Since 1993, O’Brien has served as deputy director of The Plain Dealer’s editorial page. He previously served as suburban editor and day city editor at the newspaper. His Thursday column revolves around issues as varied as medicine, education and politics. A California native, O’Brien began his newspaper career in 1979 as a reporter for the Arizona Daily Star in Tucson.
