A Conversation with St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation Administrator Betty Sutton
- GCP Offices, 1240 Huron Road East, Cleveland, OH 44115
Greater Cleveland Partnership members are invited to a luncheon program and a conversation with Betty Sutton, the newly sworn-in administrator of the St. Lawrence Seaway Development Corporation (SLSDC) on Friday, December 13 at the GCP's offices. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. followed by the program from noon to 1 p.m.
At a time when major highway and rail infrastructure is reaching capacity and in need of major investment, the SLSDC and the entire Great Lakes-Seaway industry are pulling together to promote the marine mode as the logical alternative through incentive and marketing programs, as well as successfully creating new short sea shipping routes between the U.S. and Canada, and facilitating international trade to overseas markets.
With a bi-national impact of $33.5 billion, supporting 227,000 jobs, including those at local companies such as ArcelorMittal, Lafarge and Cargill, the Seaway and the five Great Lakes form a marine superhighway that extends 2,300 miles and supports maritime activity at more than 100 U.S. and Canadian ports.
On-line Registration is now closed. On-site registration will be available at 11:30am.
