Chief Procurement Officers

The Commission on Economic Inclusion, through the MBE Services Collaborative, is exploring the possibility of creating a regional interchange for supplier diversity. It will utilize the latest in social networking tools to allow buyers, suppliers and service providers to accelerate each of their activities efficiently.

This digital marketplace would serve not only as a searchable database of minority owned businesses but also allow corporations to communicate upcoming opportunities for which they would like to ensure MBE participation.

The next meeting of the Chief Procurement Officers (CPO) Group on Thursday, December 15 from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the offices of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, 1240 Huron Road East, will be an opportunity to provide input and ensure that The Marketplace provides maximum value to our members.

Ideas for Tomorrow

Angela Duckworth, founder and scientific director, Character Lab Professor of Psychology, University of Pennsylvania

GCP members are invited to Cleveland Clinic's "Ideas for Tomorrow" program featuring Angela Duckworth, a professor of psychology at the University of Pennsylvania and a 2013 MacArthur Fellow. She also is the founder and scientific director of the Character Lab, a nonprofit whose mission is to advance the science and practice of character development.

Angela studies grit and self-control, two attributes that are distinct from IQ and yet powerfully predict success and well-being. Previously, she founded a summer school for low-income children that was profiled as a Harvard Kennedy School case study and, in 2012, celebrated its 20th anniversary. NOTE: Registration for this event is now closed. Thank you for your interest.
