JobsOhio is the private nonprofit created by the Kasich Administration to focus on job creation and economic development in Ohio. Minor joined JobsOhio during its inception in 2011 as Managing Director and became President and Chief Investment Officer in 2012. In his current role, he has been responsible for leading the strategic direction of JobsOhio and bolstering business retention, expansion and attraction opportunities for companies interested in Ohio. Click to Register.

Procurement Professionals Group

The Procurement Professionals Group will meet from 7:30 – 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 5 and discuss ways to effectively manage outreach efforts to minority suppliers. The meeting will include a demonstration of The Marketplace, a supplier diversity portal being developed by the Commission to connect GCP members with minority suppliers.

Racial Equity Institute Groundwater Presentation

The Groundwater training is an introduction to racial equity using stories and data to present a perspective that racism is fundamentally structural in nature. The presentation will introduce you to an analysis that you will find helpful and relevant; particularly as GCP continues its efforts to grow our region. This training is part of a multi-year, community-wide awareness building campaign – led by Cleveland Neighborhood Progress – to increase our region’s shared understanding of the tie between racial equity and economic development.

Through the Looking Glass: Creating a Workplace Culture that Retains Younger Talent

Studies show 42% of millennials expect to change jobs at least every one to three years (Access Perks). How does an employer combat the expectation of younger workers of being job “tourists” versus “permanent residents?” An attractive, engaging workplace culture is key. You are invited to attend and learn from local employers who have created a culture that is not only retaining younger workers but is earning them high marks on sites like Glass Door where employees rate their companies on things like vacation and benefits, CEO leadership and whether they would recommend the company to a friend.
