CLEVELAND - Statement from Steve Millard, President and Executive Director, COSE (Council of Smaller Enterprises) regarding Medical Mutual CEO Kent Clapp:

COSE is saddened by the news of the loss to Northeast Ohio of Kent Clapp, Chairman and CEO of Medical Mutual.  COSE has been fortunate to be able to work with Kent over the last ten years to continue to provide a unique and nationally admired partnership for the benefit of small business.

Kent's commitment to Cleveland and his focus on advancing local business and the success of our regional economy will be missed.  Kent was among a small and important group of local large company CEO's with deep roots to our community and a passion for Cleveland first. He invested both his own time and his organization's resources to support that passion.  Medical Mutual's recent lead investment in the Cleveland+ regional marketing initiative, including Kent's own time to lead and help shape the initiative, is a just one example of Kent's commitment to advancing our community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kent's family and the extended Medical Mutual community as they go through this difficult time.
