GCP’s top financial executive named as Crain’s Nonprofit CFO of the Year

Cleveland, Ohio—Yvette M. Ittu, the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s executive vice president of finance and operations, was honored last night by Crain’s Cleveland Business as the Nonprofit Chief Financial Officer of the Year. Ittu is also vice president of Cleveland Development Advisors Inc. (CDA), an affiliate of GCP that is responsible for the management of real estate investment funds initiated, and in part capitalized by certain GCP members. The award was presented at a dinner held at LaCentre Conference and Banquet Facility in Westlake, Ohio.

“Ours is a very complex organization with seven subsidiaries and affiliates, some of which are for-profit, and some of which are nonprofit,” notes GCP President and CEO Joe Roman, “and Yvette has consistently done an outstanding job in the financial management and reporting of these very distinct entities. We’re very pleased that this award provides public recognition for both her professional and civic achievements.”

Prior to joining CDA, Ittu was an associate with the law firm of Calfee, Halter and Griswold LLP practicing in the areas of public law and public finance. She also served as finance director for the City of Lakewood and held several financial management positions for the City of Cleveland including the post of chief financial officer for Cleveland Public Power, the city-owned power company. In addition, she served as a finance executive for Mayor Jane Campbell and served on the finance transition team for Mayor Frank Jackson.

Ittu obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law. She also is a certified public accountant and has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Cleveland State University. She currently serves on several community and nonprofit boards including NorTech, Benjamin Rose Institute, Village Capital Corporation, and Shorebridge Capital, as well as audit committees for several local governments including the City of Cleveland. Ittu is a native of Cleveland and lives in Rocky River with her husband and two children.
