Greater Cleveland Partnership comments on retaining Continental hub in Cleveland

Friday, April 23, 2010

Cleveland, Ohio—Greater Cleveland Partnership President and CEO Joe Roman has issued this statement on retaining the Continental Airlines hub in Cleveland:

"The Greater Cleveland Partnership is aligned with the broader community in our desire to retain this critically important asset—our Continental hub—for our region. We shouldn’t yet concede that any pending discussions will negatively impact this community.

“Continental has been an exemplary corporate citizen and supporter of this community. There is no certainty that Cleveland will lose its hub, but, at the same time, we share in everyone’s concerns. There is not enough information at this time to act on productively or constructively.

“Business leadership is following this issue closely, and we are committed to doing everything that is necessary to retain this asset."
