GCP statement on Third Frontier Commission award to JumpStart

Wednesday, September 19, 2012

Cleveland, Ohio—"We applaud the decision by Third Frontier leaders to approve the modified JumpStart proposal. During the past five years, the state's investment in this program has meant more than 2,700 new jobs and has facilitated more than $1.3 billion in funding and revenue for Northeast Ohio.

"JumpStart has been a significant part of our economic development portfolio and this decision will help accelerate the entrepreneurial momentum in our community. Now was not the time to take our foot off the gas pedal.

"Adding new services and partners will further enhance this proven success. State leaders were wise to continue this high leverage investment, which will mean more jobs and economic activity in Northeast Ohio in the near future."
