Dean leads OHTec’s work to connect the tech community’s people, companies and resources to create mutual support for the growth, investment and job creation of its member companies and to advocate the collective voice of the region’s tech community. Before joining OHTec, Dean held roles with Accenture, the Ohio Aerospace Institute, the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and in his own entrepreneurial ventures. These experiences combine a passion for the details of technology, the impact of entrepreneurship and the importance of industry advocacy and create a strong base of experience for his role at OHTec. Prior to joining OHTec, Dean was an Accenture consultant in its Technology Practice where he led major eBusiness initiatives at BestBuy.com, Sprint PCS.com and SharpUSA.com. He continued consulting activities leading collaborative research and development efforts for the Air Foce and National Nuclear Security Adminstration, looking to partner more closely with Tier-1 industry suppliers and small businesses, leveraging web-based networking tools. Dean was also the senior director of national development for the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University, creating endowment funds for student scholarships, Alzheimer’s research and the new medical school facility. He is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University with a degree in business and information systems, with minors in biology and chemistry.
