The Greater Cleveland Partnership's advocacy professionals understand the governmental/legislative processes and how the ultimate results can impact business. It is in this space that GCP works to educate and activate elected officials and thought leaders to create and shape government policy to advance our region.
Our Advocacy Team works with political leaders to create the conditions that will accelerate this resurgence and maximize the economic development potential for all Greater Clevelanders. They also interact with the business community to identify priority issues for the private sector.
2013/2014 Public Policy Agenda
GCP and its partner organizations represent the interests of more than 14,000 businesses in Northeast Ohio. We share a common vision for accelerating economic growth and increasing regional prosperity.
While we are concerned about the unprecedented economic challenges that will unfold throughout the next two years, we are confident that our Public Policy Agenda, representing the “one voice” of our members, will help elected officials and public-sector leaders marshal the resources to respond effectively to these challenges.
GCP staff members engaged the GCP Government Affairs Council, members, and partners to create the Public Policy Agenda. Most notably, the Public Policy Agenda is directly linked to GCP's 2012-2015 Strategic Plan. Top advocacy priorities include lakefront development, funding for infrastructure projects, such as Opportunity Corridor, and retaining civic assets, such as NASA Glenn and the United Hub at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport.
