Raising the collective voice of the middle market
The National Center for the Middle Market
(NCMM), a strategic partner of the Greater Cleveland Partnership’s Middle-Market Initiative,
is helping to promote the inaugural Middle-Market Monday
, which will be observed on January 26.
According to the NCMM website, “The goal of the day is to raise the collective voice of the leaders of this group of companies and to unearth the very real concerns they face as they strive to achieve their ambitious goals. Middle-Market Monday aims to create a community where a conversation can live as a first step in achieving recognition, resources, and support for the middle market as a whole.”
Middle-Market Monday is presented by Axial

The first program, “Best and Promising Practices from Industry Leaders in Employing People with Disabilities,” will be held Wednesday, February 4. Registration and breakfast are from 7:30 to 8 a.m. followed by presentations from 8 to 10 a.m.

Americans with disabilities comprise the largest minority group in the U.S. and most people with disabilities want to work. However, unemployment rates among individuals with disabilities are alarmingly high. Companies are sometimes unaware of the benefits of and avoid hiring people with disabilities because of myths, unfounded fears and perceived high costs.
This session will review national hiring trends and provide attendees with practical guidelines about where to turn to for expert advice about:
- Hiring persons with disabilities
- Integrate them into your workforce
- Accessing accommodations and work incentives
- Sourcing pre-screened, qualified, motivated applicants
Diversity professionals, HR directors and management executives are encouraged to attend.
