Immigration Study Reveals Impact in Cleveland

A new study on the impact of immigrants on the Great lakes economy shows a talent stream that can be tapped to grow the economy and create jobs. The report highlights that immigrants are helping to create local jobs, specifically in the healthcare sector.

The Greater Cleveland Partnership and Global Cleveland prepared a joint statement on the report.

Amazon HQ2 Bid Submitted


The Greater Cleveland Partnership, City of Cleveland and Cuyahoga County joined TeamNEO, JobsOhio, the State of Ohio and numerous local partners in submitting a bid for Cleveland to be the site of Amazon’s second headquarters known as HQ2. More than 20 organizations and over 90 individuals from throughout the community came together to develop a strong, compelling case to present to Amazon. 
More than 100 municipalities across North America are expected to submit bids.

CDA provides financing for One University Circle

Cleveland Development Advisors (CDA), an affiliate of the Greater Cleveland Partnership, closed on a $6.3 million loan for One University Circle, the City of Cleveland's first new high-rise apartment building to be constructed in 40 years.  The 20-story tower developed by First Interest Properties and Petros Development Corp. will offer concierge service, fitness and wellness areas, conference rooms, pool and community areas, as well as amazing views of the city skyline.

State Capital Bill

The 2018-19 state capital bill is underway. This is a legislative-led process that provides funding for community projects across the state. Over the next several months, the General Assembly will work with the Administration to determine and prioritize significant projects to support with capital funding. GCP has historically participated in this process by prioritizing Northeast Ohio projects and advocating their importance to the legislature and Administration.

Amazon Confirms 2nd Fulfillment Center in Euclid

Amazon confirmed late last week that a fulfillment center will be built in the vacant Euclid Square Mall. This is in addition to the site previously announced in North Randall. Both locations will bring thousands of new jobs to Cleveland.
