GCP hosts elected officials conference in Washington, D.C.

Washington, D.C.—The Greater Cleveland Partnership Advocacy Department, on behalf of GCP and Cleveland Development Foundation, a GCP program, in conjunction with Congressman Dave Joyce (OH-14) and Congressman Jim Renacci (OH-16), hosted the Northeast Ohio Elected Officials Conference in Washington D.C. on Thursday, May 16 and Friday, May 17.

“We pleased that representatives from many of our member companies were able to participate,” said Carol Caruso, the GCP’s senior vice president of advocacy. “The conference provided an excellent opportunities for our members to interact with elected officials from the township, municipal, county and state levels, as well as a majority of Ohio’s Congressional Delegation.”

The conference included a reception on Thursday at the Newseum’s rooftop Knight Conference Center and breakfast on Friday with members of the Ohio Congressional Delegation. Delegation members who attended and delivered remarks were House Speaker John Boehner (OH-8); Senator Sherrod Brown (OH) and U.S. Representatives Steve Chabot (OH-1); Marcia Fudge (OH-11); Bob Gibbs (OH-7); Bill Johnson (OH-6); Marcy Kaptur (OH-9); Bob Latta (OH-5); Tim Ryan (OH-13); Mike Turner (OH-10); and Brad Wenstrup (OH-2).

Congressmen Joyce and Renacci, who also spoke at the breakfast, expressed their deep appreciation for GCP’s leadership in hosting this event, which is a continuation of the tradition of the 14th Congressional District Fly-in hosted by GCP with former Congressman Steve LaTourette.
