GCP at Work
It pays tremendous dividends to be a vital part of the community’s continuing conversation about its present and its future. The Greater Cleveland Partnership is involved on many levels — as a convener, collaborator, participant or listener.
As Northeast Ohio’s premier economic development and business advocacy organization, we actively reassess and reshape our methods to most effectively leverage the influence of our organization and our partners.
Advocating for Business
The Northeast Ohio business community has a tremendous advocate in the Greater Cleveland Partnership and its small business partner — COSE. With our network of partners, we speak with one voice when it comes to what is best for business, the economy and job creation in the region.
Supporting Education Reform
The GCP has made reforming Cleveland public schools a strategic priority. It’s essential to strengthening our economy and our overall regional health and attractiveness by ensuring that Cleveland public schools deliver quality education for all students. Our involvement has included:
- Providing significant input to shape Mayor Frank Jackson’s Cleveland Plan to reinvent the Cleveland public school system.
- Working collaboratively to generate bipartisan support in Columbus to pass legislation needed to implement the plan.
- Mobilizing business community support of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District’s successful levy.
- Working with the Cleveland Transformation Alliance to ensure that the objectives of The Cleveland Plan are met.
Targeting Physical Development
Through Cleveland Development Advisors, we continue to invest in targeted, catalytic physical development projects designed to advance economic and community development projects throughout Cleveland.
Developing Northeast Ohio Companies
The GCP Business Development Team is committed to our companies and our community. We know that growth starts with companies who call Greater Cleveland home. Our Business Development Team works collaboratively across all GCP program areas, with our partners and affiliates, to grow and advance our local economy.
Advancing Economic Inclusion
Through the Commission on Economic Inclusion, a program of GCP, our efforts are aimed at growing minority-owned businesses in the Cleveland Plus region and including more minorities in senior management and board leadership of Northeast Ohio’s companies and organizations.
Engaging the Middle Market
This important segment of the U.S. economy has been described as “the market that moves America.” Read about the connections we're building in our region with our Middle-Market Initiative.
