The event is presented by the Greater Cleveland Partnership with special guests Congressman Dave Joyce, Congresswoman Marcia L. Fudge, Congresswoman Marcy Kaptur, and U.S. Representative Anthony Gonzalez and in partnership with the Northeast Ohio Mayors and City Managers Association and the Cuyahoga County Mayors and City Managers Association.

Registration for the Empowering Local Leadership Conference includes 2 registrations for the event. All conference attendees are responsible for their travel and accommodations. Elected officials may bring a spouse or one guest. The Thursday evening Cocktail Reception as well as the Friday conference program is typically for adults only. Related fees are for Thursday evening reception. Conference sessions are free of charge.


Suggested attire for the Conference is business casual.


All attendees will need to go through a security screening in order to enter the Capitol. Guests will not be permitted to bring liquid (including bottled water) or large bags (including luggage) into the Capitol Building. Travel Information:

All attendees of the Empowering Local Leadership Conference are responsible for their own travel and hotel arrangements. We suggest you select a hotel on Capitol Hill, although you can catch a cab or take the Metro from hotels in downtown Washington, DC, or in Northern Virginia (i.e., Crystal City, Pentagon City, Old Town Alexandria).  Reagan National (DCA) is the closest airport to Capitol Hill. The airports at Dulles (IAD) and Baltimore (BWI) are about an hour from the city.
