Appointed to Cleveland City Council in early 2017 and elected by voters that November, Councilman Blaine A. Griffin represents Ward 6, encompassing a diverse set of east side neighborhoods, including Fairfax and parts of Buckeye-Shaker, University Circle, and Slavic Village. Councilman Griffin is chairman of the Health & Human Services Committee and sits on four other committees – Finance, Safety, Workforce & Community Benefits and Operations.


Prior to serving on council, he was the executive director of the city's Community Relation's Board for 11 years. He led a staff and board trustees in efforts to improve cross-culture relations throughout the city.
