Diversity Professionals Conference

The Commission on Economic Inclusion will hold its fifth annual Diversity Professionals Conference on Tuesday, August 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Corporate College East, 4400 Richmond Road in Warrensville Heights.

Our featured speaker will be Dr. Rohini Anand, senior vice president and global chief diversity officer at Sodexo, where she is responsible for the strategic direction, implementation and alignment of Sodexo’s integrated global diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as Sodexo USA’s sustainable development and corporate citizenship strategies.

Under Dr. Anand’s leadership, Sodexo received the prestigious 2012 Catalyst Award, which honors exceptional business initiatives that advance women in the workplace. In addition, Sodexo ranked No. 1 in 2013 and No. 2 in 2011 and 2012 on the DiversityInc index of Top Companies for Diversity.

Conference Agenda and Registration

Conference attendees will select one of two tracks:

Track 1 - 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: "Culturally Competent Leaders are Change Agents! Fine Tune Your Skills to Influence Your Organization," led by Cleveland State University Diversity Management Program faculty

Track 2: "How to Operationalize Best Practices and Tools for Impact," led by award-winning organizations and experts featuring these topics:

9 to 10:30 a.m. (plenary session): "The Most Impactful D&I Metrics and How to Incorporate Them into Your Business Strategy," Shirley Engelmeier, CEO, InclusionInc

10:45 a.m. to Noon (choose one): "Building a Successful Talent Pipeline," Kathy Hopinkah Hannan, national managing partner, diversity and corporate responsibility, KPMG LLP

1:15 to 2:30 p.m. (plenary session): "Incorporating Supplier Diversity into your Business Strategy," Veronica Cook-Euell, supplier diversity program manager, Kent State University

2:45 to 4 p.m. (choose one): "Capitalizing on Employee Engagement and Innovation," Marlon Moore, vice president, inclusion, and Erin Walberg, inclusion specialist, Huntington National Bank

Registration fees

Commission members:         Three free attendees, $75 each additional registrant
Non-Commission members:  $175 per person; $100 additional for all Track 1 participants 

The program has been submitted to HRCI for re-certification credit, PHR, SPHR and GPHR.
