The 2008 financial crisis caused widespread hardship to consumers and the financial services industry. Communities of color were disproportionately impacted both as consumers and employees of financial services companies. Likewise, large institutions’ efforts to utilize women-owned and minority-owned businesses decreased significantly during the economic downturn. Because of this, Section 342 of Dodd-Frank was created in 2010.

About our Speaker
Monique S. Winston is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OPTIMA Lender Services in Cleveland, Ohio. OPTIMA is a nationwide real estate service provider. Its primary business is providing clients with third-party services related to residential and commercial loan originations and portfolios. OPTIMA offers full Title and Settlement Services on residential and commercial properties. OPTIMA, one of few minority-owned and controlled national title companies in the nation, is headquartered in Northeastern Ohio.
In her role as CEO, Monique is responsible for implementing overall strategy. She is responsible for all executive decisions, which include, establishing the company’s core title and settlement services, business development, all client/vendor relationships, operational service performance, and marketing. Monique has worked in the title industry for over 22 years.
Having worked as a compliance/resource officer and a manager at Lender’s Service, Inc. a large vendor management company in Pittsburgh, Pa, Monique developed a reputation as one of the young up and coming leaders in the title industry. She has become well-known as a teacher and lecturer and has developed a curriculum of fundamental title/closing courses and workshops.
