Following the retirement of Janet Kavandi this month, NASA Administrator Jim Bridenstine has named Marla Perez-Davis as the Acting Center Director for NASA’s Glenn Research Center. Marla has served as the Deputy Director of the Center since 2016 and prior to that served as the Deputy Director of the Center’s Research and Engineering Directorate.
Marla joined Glenn in 1983 and has held a number of other key positions, including Director of the Aeronautics Research Office and Chief of the Project Liaison and Integration Office. A native of Puerto Rico, Marla earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Puerto Rico, a master’s degree from the University of Toledo, and a doctorate from Case Western Reserve University in chemical engineering. She is also a graduate of NASA’s Senior Executive Service Candidate Development Program and the Office of Personnel Management Program.
