Senator Antonio holds a Master of Public Administration degree from the Maxine Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University as well as a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from CSU. She was first elected to Lakewood City Council in 2005 as an at-large council person and was re-elected in 2009.
During each of her terms in office, Senator Antonio introduced the Ohio Fairness Act—a bill supported by GCP—to protect LGBT people from discrimination. As a Senator, she represents Senate District 23, which includes Parma, Parma Heights, Brooklyn, Brook Park, Lakewood, Middleburg Heights, Linndale and parts of Cleveland’s west side.
Senator Antonio serves as Ranking Minority Member on the Senate Committee on Health, Human Services and Medicaid and the Senate Committee on Transportation, Commerce and Workforce in addition to sitting on the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Committee on Ways and Means.
