Newly appointed Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP) president and CEO Baiju Shah, joined WTAM host Bill Wills this morning. The two discussed Shah's Cleveland roots and what brought him back to the region in the early nineties. As a native Clevelander, Baiju is passionate about the inclusive economic growth in our region.
Shah also shared his excitement for the role and the legacy current GCP president and CEO Joe Roman will leave. As a convener, GCP will continue to focus on the importance of an inclusive economic development environment.
The two also discussed the status of the Cleveland Innovation Project and how we can drive the innovation sectors in our region. This collective effort has identified three sectors as having the most powerful combination of strengths, opportunities, impact potential and readiness for scaled growth efforts:
- Smart Manufacturing
- Health Innovation
- Water Technologies
The pandemic continues to be a concern for businesses and individuals across the country. As organizations continue operating and begin to bring employees back to work, keeping everyone safe is a priority. Shah shared his plan to work closely with health officials to restore jobs and ensure a safe return to work.
GCP announced Friday that Baiju R. Shah has been named President and CEO of the organization, effective April 12, 2021. Shah will succeed Joe Roman, who will retire April 30, 2021.
