Governor DeWine’s Economic Advisory Board, a diverse group comprising of 18 business leaders from large companies, small businesses, and woman- and minority-owned enterprises, recently called on Ohioans to wear face coverings whenever in public. Several GCP members serve on the board, which helped to develop protocols for safe operation during the pandemic for different businesses and to make broader recommendations for a reopening of our state economy.

In a Crain’s Cleveland Business article, the advisory board asserted that, “this simple action is one that can help ensure that more of the businesses in Ohio will be able to reopen and return to more normal operations,” in regard to wearing a mask in workplaces and public spaces. The article followed an announcement from Governor DeWine that facial coverings must be worn in public in several counties, including Cuyahoga, that are designated as a Red Alert Level 3 Public Health Emergency or a Purple Alert Level 4 Public Health Emergency.
