The Ohio Senate Judiciary Committee heard sponsor testimony on Senate Bill 308 last week. The bill aims to provide Ohio businesses legal protections against potential coronavirus lawsuits.  The Senate legislation and summary can be found here.

Separately, the Ohio House of Representatives also introduced legislation granting civil immunity for losses related to the transmission of COVID-19.  House Bill 606 is scheduled to be heard in the Ohio House Civil Justice Committee tomorrow where the language may be amended.

GCP expects this issue will continue to receive attention in the days ahead, a form of it may pass the Ohio General Assembly, and GCP advocacy staff remains in close contact with legislative leaders as proceedings progress.
