GCP’s Commission on Economic Inclusion Will Host 11th Annual Inclusion Conference
CLEVELAND, Aug. 15, 2019 – The Commission on Economic Inclusion, a division of Greater Cleveland Partnership (GCP), will host its 11th Annual Inclusion Conference on Aug. 22, 2019, at the Cleveland Marriott East.
The Amplify Inclusion Conference, presented by KPMG, is the ideal setting for businesses to take an introspective look at how clients and employees view communications centered around diversity and inclusion. A full day of keynotes and interactive breakout sessions make up the agenda, which is outlined on the event page on the GCP website.
The keynote speakers include KPMG’s Principal and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer Michele Meyer-Shipp, Weber Shandwick’s Senior Vice President of Employee Engagement & Change Management Tai Wingfield, the first woman to coach for a major league baseball organization and Founder of Baseball For All, Justine Siegal, PhD, Assistant Coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers, Lindsay Gottlieb, the Owner of PGP Sports & Former NFL Player, Adrien Clarke, as well as the NBA’s Executive Vice President & Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer, Oris Stuart.
“Every August, hundreds of Northeast Ohio executives demonstrate our business communities’ recognition of the importance of diversity, equity and inclusion by gathering for a full day symposium to strengthen their organizations,” said Brian Hall, executive director of the Commission on Economic Inclusion and senior vice president of Greater Cleveland Partnership, “This year we are looking forward to exploring the language of diversity and how company brands speak internally to associates and externally to customers and partners. All attendees will leave full of ideas and actionable strategies to not only strengthen our collective voice but amplify inclusion.”
The breakout sessions will consist of presentations and panels populated by respected professionals in the world of community engagement, human resources, marketing and communications as well as diversity and inclusion. The sessions will cover a variety of topics as they pertain to diversity and equity, such as internal communications, employer responsibilities, engaging Latinx talent and brand advertising.
The Amplify Inclusion Champion Award, which recognizes diversity and inclusion champions who are employees at Northeast Ohio companies, is a new feature of the Inclusion Conference this year. Up to three winners of said award will be recognized during the event.
The Amplify Inclusion Conference will take place at the Cleveland Marriott East in Warrensville Heights from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is open to GCP’s members for $129 per person and to non-members for $199 per person.
