Digital Room LLC (DR), the largest eCommerce provider of customized marketing and branding products targeting small and medium-sized customers in North America, will expand their presence in Northeast Ohio by opening a new manufacturing facility in Solon and creating 60 new jobs over the next three years as part of a $21-million project.
In addition to the new hires, the company will invest over $12-million in building improvements, machinery and equipment. The new jobs are in addition to the retention of all of DR’s 111 employees at their existing facility in Brook Park.
“We are thrilled to see Digital Room increase their presence in Northeast Ohio,” said Joe Roman, President and CEO of the Greater Cleveland Partnership. “During these most challenging times, GCP appreciates the investment DR is making in the region, not just with the new Solon facility, but their continued operations in Brook Park as well. GCP is committed to DR’s success and will continue to support all their ongoing business needs.”
HIG Capital, a private equity firm based in Miami, FL purchased DR in 2017 and has subsequently poised the company for growth through expanding their production capacity and geographic footprint.
“Digital Room is eager to provide our customers with high-quality customized marketing and branding solutions,” said Michael Turner, CEO of Digital Room. “Together, with the Greater Cleveland Partnership and JobsOhio, we look forward to building a center for innovation, training, and quality products and solutions. This facility will benefit the local community and help the small and mid-sized businesses we serve to thrive as they grow their own businesses.”
Led by Ed Chatmon, Senior Director, Business Development for the Greater Cleveland Partnership, the organization worked collaboratively with the city of Solon, Ohio Development Services Agency, Team NEO and JobsOhio to secure the Digital Room expansion. The company also has a presence in California, Michigan, New Jersey, Texas and Connecticut.
“We are delighted that Digital Room has selected the City of Solon for its expansion," added Mayor Ed Kraus. "It is a highly reputable and innovative eCommerce company that is continually growing and we’re committed to doing everything possible as a municipal partner to help them grow and thrive here. We also appreciate all the help and support that we’ve received from our regional and state economic development partners, Greater Cleveland Partnership, Team NEO and Jobs Ohio.”
The project is being supported by a Job Creation Tax Credit and grant from JobsOhio.
Team NEO CEO Bill Koehler added, “Digital Room’s investment reinforces the strength of manufacturers across Northeast Ohio. Our advanced manufacturing sector continues to grow and progress with companies like Digital Room.”
